Welcome and congratulations on starting your journey as a credit student at AACC!

Like all colleges, the first step is to apply for admission. But unlike some colleges, we accept all who apply. This is because we believe anyone who works hard deserves an excellent education. So whether you’re an A-plus student or struggle in some subjects, we can put you on the path to academic success.

How to Apply to AACC

At AACC, we’ve worked hard to make the online application process as simple and straightforward as possible. Applying is as easy as following these four steps:

  1. Create an online application account.
  2. Complete and submit your online application.
  3. Once you have submitted an application, you will receive emails with your AACC student ID number and information regarding MyAACC, our online student portal. You must activate your MyAACC and college computer accounts in order to use college computers, to view courses and course materials, check college email, view grades and more.

Note: If you’ve taken a credit class at AACC before, or if you want to enroll in a noncredit continuing education class, you do NOT need to submit an application.

Special Requirements

If you fit within one of these specific student groups, there are a few additional requirements to complete as you move through the application process outlined above. Be sure to glance over these requirements before you start the application.

Current High School Students

Early College Access Program
If you’re an Anne Arundel County high school student and at least 16 years old, you can get a head start on basic college course requirements by enrolling in the Early College Access Program (ECAP).

AACPS students applying to ECAP:

  1. Complete the AACPS's electronic ECAP application. Provide your AACPS username and password and the form will populate with your student information.
  2. Print the completed ECAP form and obtain the necessary signatures from your parent/guardian, high school counselor and principal.
  3. Ask for a copy of your high school transcript.
  4. Present the form to the AACC cashiers office. For private school and home school students, this form determines your eligibility for the 25 percent tuition reduction.

Visiting Students Enrolled in Other Colleges

If you’re working on a degree at another college and would like to take a course at AACC, be sure to get a Permission to Study form from your college to ensure our course credits will transfer back. Need a syllabus before they’ll approve the course? Contact the appropriate individual  for your course.

Apply to AACC and identify yourself as a visiting student where requested on the application.

Send us your completed credit registration form along with copies of your scores from the SAT/ACT and/or unofficial college transcript as evidence of meeting AACC course prerequisites.

Be sure to make a payment.

Don’t forget to request your transcript once you complete your course.

Call or email us at askaacc@nbjct.com or 410-777-2222 if you still have questions!

Common Questions

We know the application process can seem complicated. That’s why our admissions team is here to help you every step of the way. Here are a few of the most common questions students ask us throughout the process.

Is there any chance I’ll be rejected?

No. At AACC, we believe everyone deserves an excellent education, so we accept everyone who applies (as long as they’re at least 16 years old).

If everyone is accepted, why do I need to apply?

Every student who submits an application for admission is accepted. The application is the first step in creating your academic record. Your application identifies your career and/or academic goals, determines residency and indicates your desire to apply for financial aid. Once you have enrolled, your grades and other academic information will be included in your academic record.

Do I need to apply to be a noncredit student?

No. Only students applying to take credit courses at AACC should complete the application.

Learn more about registering as a noncredit student.

Do I need to apply if I’ve taken credit classes at AACC before?

Probably not. If you’ve taken credit classes at AACC before, there’s a good chance we already have an application for you on file. Contact the admissions office to find out whether you need to reapply for admission.

What are the application deadlines?

We recommend submitting your application no later than July 1 to ensure that we have enough time to process your application and financial aid, assist with your course selection, and registration. For international students, the application deadlines are June 1 for the fall term enrollment and Nov. 1 for spring term enrollment. This ensures that we have time to process visa information.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to AACC admissions office for help.
